Now to find a decent priced PS5 in time for launch......   :/

It looks like a return to the proper tuning section at least, visually it looks amazing so fingers crossed for sometime in '21, only this or a new Dirt title will get me onto a PS5

It seems like 2022 before we see GT7. Suppose it gives us more time to source a PS5!!

I managed to get the PS5 after firing off a few emails to Gamestop asking where I stand on my order
4 days later I'm in possession of a PS5, now I cant wait for Gran Turismo 7
On the PS4 pro GT Sport looks as good as it does on PS5, the only difference is the speed of loading

What's a PS5?

Think it's a myth.  :/

Hey GT_Dave and Jutngo, it's hard to believe now that we have the best Gran Turismo and I even got a rig, which helps me improve my driving skills (despite not getting my DR to move at all) that we don't get together like the GT5/6 days
I would join some other racing groups online but most of them seem a little too anal for my liking, and besides I only play
from 7 am to around 2 pm, so evenings are out for me due to having to share the TV with other members of the household  :D
It's nice to see this familiar place is still up and going, feel free to join me on track anytime I'm online  :)

Jay, just tell your family they are perfectly welcome to watch the TV while you're racing!!  :gaming:

Cool, however my PS4 has already required a new hard drive as it failed. The old girl is now 8 years old, so to be expected really. Not sure if it would cope with the latest games....

I just wont show this article to SWMBO and keep up that I NEED a PS5.

Yeah, I reckon the PS4 version will be a scaled back 'prologue' so I will still hope to pick up a PS5 before release at some point.

Wonder if PS4 and PS5 users can race online together :/

Curious about that myself. We can at the moment on GT Sport so it's probably a question of how different the versions are in terms of physics and mechanics.

I would say yes with maybe an exception for certain tracks or track conditions that aren't available on the PS4 version.  Just like the Spa DLC issue with GT5.

On 2nd August 2021, GTPlanet have released an announcement (https://www.gtplanet.net/new-leak-confirms-gt7-ps4-20210802/) that states that GT7 will be developed for PS4.

However it should be noted as they have stated:
QuoteIt is important to note that just because GT7 has been developed for PS4, it still might not end up as a PS4 release. The technical process could simply be exploratory, to determine how well the code runs on the nearly decade-old PS4 hardware. However, it's increasingly looking like GT7 will be cross-gen after all.

Guess the concern would be that if it's being developed for/on PS4, it won't hit it's full potential on PS5?

Not that it concerns me at the moment anyway given I can't afford anything at all right now. Would love to see it become a thing on PS Now though, could play it on PC that way.

Well I'm not concerned about it being too fancy. I'm still enjoying GT Sport. The way that plays is grand. Add in the customisation of GT6 with the offline content from GT4 and I'd be totally happy.

Don't have a PS5 though so that view might have been different.

New video with official release date!

I'll need to get a good look through this but after first quick look seems like a lot of great tracks back with us.

Nice GT1 intro references.

Maybe I should just sell a bike and grab an over priced PS5 because I'm clearly not going to be doing any cycling next year!!

Looking forward to this, March 22 release...wonder how late it will be.

Apparently it's a PS4 title which will be accelerated to work with the PS5, means nowt to me that :/

Pre orders are now available for various versions...

https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/news/00_4926414.html

Whichever version I go for it would be the most I've spent on a game so might as well just go all the way and get the PS5 anniversary edition!! At least it comes with the PS4 digital code so I won't be stuck if I can't source a PS5 before March! (or whenever it comes out).

Hi Lads, I preordered Gran Turismo 7, so fingers crossed it's not delayed

Tidgney put up this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7iC_BQWz1w

In the meantime I'm still enjoying GT Sport a lot

Looks like Deep Forest has been teased now. Car list is looking great and from the screen shots etc it seems we might be getting a GranTurismo 4 SUPER DELUXE EDITION!!

You all know I really enjoy the online racing but it was the single player career of the old GT's that made me such a fan. Really looking forward to that aspect of the game again.

Maybe another 'Budget Build Off' series Dave?!  :gaming:
Title: Re: GT7 Chat

Deep Forest has now been officially confirmed. Another classic track with us again. Although it has been modified a bit, particularly in the final sector.

Grand Valley next please Kaz. That would be nice.  ;)

Still no delay announcement....

Could this be a GT arriving on time??

Post by: NeilR on December 18, 2021, 12:13:42 PM
Grand Valley needs to come back for sure, pity about the reworking of the last sector in Deep Forest but hey it's a classic so we shouldn't complain.

I agree the offline campaign was what hooked me into GT, fingers crossed they deliver a classic this time around

Yeah, would love to do a proper Grand Valley 300 again.
Also, Daytona Road Course has been teased in the latest video.

Also, also....  PS plus is allowing free online gaming this weekend. So anyone can get online racing without a subscription until late on sunday night. I also think it's half price at the moment in the PS store. Just in case anyone is interested.

I could be about tomorrow for some driving if anyone is available. Just msg me on the PS.

3/01/22 UPDATE

BIG trailer and news from Kaz with GT7 details.
Release still on for 4th March.

Plenty to get our teeth into there but one particular thing that looks interesting to me...

Gran-Turismo-7-Garage_02.webp

The column towards the centre shows how changes to tuning will affect the car. Not just power, weight, PP etc. but car stability and cornering g forces?!! Setting up a car could be a more user friendly task.

I have my concerns about the layout of the offline career mode but overall I'm optimistic about what we are being offered here. Customisation and options in every area seem to have been increased so it's looking good for both offline car collectors and online racers.

Hope a few here will be getting it too. Could be competing in the licence test and circuit experience leader boards soon!!

Less than a week now chaps and chapesses!!  :gaming:

New licence tests and leaderboards!
Looking forward to starting a fresh car collecting career in a GT again.
Signs are that we'll be getting plenty of updates to the content soon after launch so I reckon Grand Valley might not be far away. In fact I still have a little bit of hope we have it on release!!

With any luck my physical copy is with me on Friday. My plan is to test the PS4 version voucher to see if I can upgrade that to download the PS5 version to the PS5. That way I don't actually need to use the disc. Will see.

Anyone else here getting it on release? PS4 or 5?

There will be TTs etc ingame so if there is interest I can post those at least when things kick off.

Haven't managed to get my hands on a PS5, just going to download the cross platform version just incase.  Looking forward to getting back to the old school offline GT tbh

I ended up pre-ordering a download version for the PS5 so I now have an amazon pre order bonus code for anyone that didn't get that pack. Just let me know on PSN if it's any use.

Planned an easy day for myself so got on early for a bit of GT this morning. I noticed quite a few had been on a lot earlier than me!
Thought I'd give the triggers a go to see what this feedback thing is like when using the controller. Not sure yet. Been using the sticks since GT1 so it's a bit strange and the reflexes are still protesting about it!

So far I'm impressed with it all. There's plenty to take in and I'm sure there will be a serious amount to go back over once we get through the game. All the licences, driving missions, circuit experiences etc will all get a revisit to improve on times if possible.

The first couple of hours are quite slow due to the menu navigation and text but that will speed up once I get used to where everything is and it all opens up without people explaining everything!

So how's the game since the update, guys?

Is it deserving of the worst game ever (https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2022-03-20-gran-turismo-now-has-the-lowest-metacritic-user-score-of-any-sony-game-ever)?

Title: Re: GT7 Chat
Post by: jutngo on March 24, 2022, 11:12:30 PM
I'm loving it. Really don't understand all the complaining that's going on. Handling is more difficult on road tyres but you just need to be very careful with your steering inputs when on the limit.  I definitely believe this is the best handling model we've had in a GT so far and hope they don't nerf it to quieten the complaints!
The game looks great and sounds great. Weather changes are beautiful and the AI in later longer races can give a good fight. Especially when you need to use tyre strategy as the surface changes.   :gaming:

The credits can be slow to gather up if you want one of the expensive cars but that's nothing new. Also, I've only actually bought a handful of cars but have over 100 in the garage. If you go through the races, missions and licences you get gifted so many.

I believe a lot of people have came form GT Sport and been surprised by the difficulty and depth in the career mode. Rather than spending time to get used to it and give it a chance they would rather just complain.

The lobby system needs a lot of work though. It would be next to impossible to successfully host an organised league race at the moment. Too unstable and the regulation settings are glitchy at best.

There is plenty more to come though. In the form of improvements and content.

Hi, my name is Sombrero, and I'm a GT-a-holic  :)

Randomly looked the old forum up and, lo and behold!!! :):)

Hope you're all doing fine and dandy, it's been a while! I've not succumbed to 7 yet but expect that to be remedied tomorrow on pay day! Only PS4 though, still haven't got my mitts on a 5 yet :( I see Line and a few others kicking around socials, so once I'm up and running again you'll hopefully see me about!

Jeez I'm rusty! Some of these license tests have got my blood pressure going!! I am glad they are difficult though (for me at least!) means more when you eventually gold it :) Only had a few hours so far, and haven't unlocked online yet, doh! Hopefully won't be long :)
Title: Re: GT7 Chat
Post by: jutngo on April 06, 2022, 06:05:05 PM
Yeah, cars are a lot more sensitive to steering and throttle inputs so you can't throw it around like in GT sport. Once you get the hang of it all it's more rewarding.

The next update may increase payouts for a lot of the events. At that point I'm thinking of doing the Nurb circuit experience and maybe using the leaderboard for a Ronin Green Hell challenge? If that sounds like an idea to peeps?

Yep really enjoying GT7, especially since the increase in payouts for certain races
