Cheers Andy and thank you one and all its been fun......

Now on to the next chapter guys still more fun to be had   <3

Well this sucks, completely understand but don't like the idea of losing the forum. Wouldn't know any of you if it hadn't been for Ronin.

Mobile apps, the move to next gen consoles and the cost of upgrading hardware, the lack of mobile compatibility and the lack of a next gen GT title killed this place.

Will be sad to see it go.

Will check out AOR but, it's the family feel at Ronin that makes it what it is, despite not being on PS4, this was always a place we could come to and talk about more than just sim racing. AOR will see us divided and that family feel disappear and the mobile apps... I don't have the memory space on my phone to even install them.

Genuinely gutted and concerned that I'll lose touch with everyone but, it is what it is and this chapter will be fondly remembered. Good luck guys.

I'll absolutely second what Dave has said, many fond memories from GT5P and early GT6 during SFS and SP, not to mention the testing and general clowning around every night of the week!

Good luck whichever way life takes you, maybe our paths will cross sometime.

The defining moment for me and Ronin.

"Garfie, shut ya face!"

I still laugh about that.

It's not so sad guys...when we have a common racer it'll be fine. That said it's not like Everyone from Ronin has been posting either, including yourself Dave. . But there's no bad vibe cause stuff happens.  Even with project cars available to race on, we still only have 6 interested that have ps4s. We're staying in contact on group me for now, so delete a photo and download it.   ;)

AOR has been pretty welcoming so far, we'll run our own events, hell we may even kick off an SFS maybe!! and we have privacy in GroupMe.

Cheer up chops!

Hey!

I'm top poster this week so "Shut ya Face!" :P

Problem for me and not posting comes down to one simple thing, I have nothing to post about, I'm on different games to pretty much everyone and a different platform. The general chat has dried up because everyone is on Group Me which (even if I did have any photos to delete) won't go on my phone, besides which, I don't want to spend my time on my phone, the screen is tiny and my vision isn't great.

I'm not giving up just yet.

I'm not counting this week Dave, What about the last 6 months.  :-P

If there were more people here Racing on PC you could have been posting RR stuff, so it only make sense not to have been, I'm interested anyway and I'm sure Andy is. I'm not getting at anyone, it's just the way it's been, It would be great to keep this place, of course it would.  But the racing was becoming a little silly, people were dropping like flies or even just disappearing, Chin started running a championship and then just went without a word, I messaged him and he said he just couldn't be arsed and wasn't really feeling pcars. So fair enough but to not say anything.

We just wanna race and to do that we needed to stretch our legs a bit and find more dudes to race with. I look forward to Racing with all the guys from Ronin again, but I can think of 10+ regulars that just don't come here anymore.

I get that, I do and I'm not criticising but, Ronin used to be about more than just racing and now that's gone too. We were a family once.

Had some great times here, from Prologue to BF3. GT made this place, but GT also killed it. Good luck to everyone that moves on and continues to race.

+1  and unfortunately right about GT  :rant2:

It was about 7 years ago I bumped into Andy on the PSN forums, and 6 years ago SFS hit the ground running in the UK.
A very short while later I got an invitation from Ronin_Kurenai to join the Ronin forum.

Hold on a moment... lets just reflect on that.....6 years!!

There are far too many good moments in that time period, for an old guy like me to remember them all.
And the individual moments in themselves don't mean much.
It was never about the moments, it was all about the general feel of the place.

Ronin has never been a big forum, and by that I mean the membership was never huge, but it's presence and recognition in the GT community has been far higher than it's size would credit. It hit way beyond it's weight in that respect.
It has also lasted longer when many others have fallen by the wayside, which for such a small community is incredible.
Actually no, it's not incredible, it just the normal "Ronin Way".

Andy and Ray have my biggest thanks for inviting into this Ronin world of good racing, good fun, and most inportantly good freinds.

Whatever happens from here I am sure we will stay in touch, and who knows what might happen in the future?

P.S. Should I spend

Well said Dekka. Right on all accounts.

I'm also not happy with RoninGT coming to a close, last year I thought GT7 would be here by now and there would
be a flurry of activity on the forum, PD>  :slap: <RoninGT.

All these reminiscences. Yeah, we had a good run. But honestly, the way it's been over the last year or so... We've had very little of that.

We are actually getting racing over at AOR. And the lads over there seem great. Some young some old some outspoken some quiet and all of them there for the racing and the community feel. Exactly what we used to have here.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh right now... but a forum isn't a community if there's no activity. You say it's more than about the racing... and yes... it was... until there was only the racing left because nothing else was getting talked about, apart from the odd thing here and there in the video sharing threads and a good morning.

And talking about the racing, that dried up as well as the good old camaraderie and race reports from people. No one seemed to give a damn whether racing was happening or not. We'd spend hours putting in testing for events and quite frankly, there wasn't much point.

Look, i care if other people care. If people show enthusiasm for something, I'll continue. However, there's been very little of that... until I stated I'm going to have to pull the plug (on the website)

We have the groupme chats, which is active. Come and join us. We have the AOR forum, for racing. Once we are more established, we are going to start running socials and possibly bring back SFS in some form, for driver / race craft training. There's stuff going on, just none of it is here anymore. That's just the way things have gone down. AOR currently race on pcars, iracing, assetto and forza. Once GT Sport hits im sure that will get events and leagues. Same goes for the console versions of Assetto and Dirt Rally. There are people there, like minded people... so come and join in.

I will be closing the forum for posts very soon, just so you are all aware. There is groupme, facebook, twitter and AOR in the meantime... until I decide what to do with the server and domains.

Yes guys, it has been good here. Yes, we did punch above our weight. But PD let us down, certain members let us down and things just started to unravel faster than we could re-stitch. That's how I see it. The website may go, but lots of us are still active.

I'll hate to see this forum go as I've loved the banter and chit chat here. I hate GroupMe, it pushes me to read and answer all the time and that stresses the hell out of me, but that's probably just me being an old fart. So if the forum goes, I honestly can't say what I'll do. I've been a bit tired of racing lately and Pcars not making it better, but We'll see. I might get over it or I might stop entirely. It's not just racing.....I'm always tired atm. And stressed from work. I might just need a brake from everything for a while. At least spring is coming which means Sun, warmth, Green trees and colorful flowers. Hopefully it'll give me some energy....
A lot of people go through life doing things badly. Racing
